Bobby praises public sector workers and criticises outsourcing trend
The hard work and dedication of public sector workers has been recognised by Bobby Dean MP, Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for Carshalton and Wallington, during a Westminster Hall debate on outsourcing in government departments.
Bobby Dean MP said,
“We seem to accept that, because the private sector can offer higher wages, it somehow always delivers better outcomes, but that is clearly not true.
“People take a lot of pride in public sector work, and that can motivate them in ways that the private sector can never motivate individuals. We can attract talent, but we need to facilitate that in the right way, with the right pay, conditions and working culture in the public sector.”
Bobby went on to highlight the contrast between the failure of outsourcing within the children’s home sector compared to the success of ‘insourcing’ by the Liberal Democrat-led Sutton Council, which has improved outcomes for residents.
