Supporting residents into work

An update from Wallington South's Lib Dem Councillors:

The Council works with businesses, training providers, schools and local colleges to ensure our residents have the skills to take up local employment opportunities.

It also works in partnership with Croydon, Merton, Kingston and Richmond to promote local job markets and engage with businesses to recruit from the South London Area.

The Council can link people with mental or physical disability who need additional support to maintain employment with organisations who specialise in this work.

The Council also encourages local businesses and developers to offer apprenticeships to local residents.

The Employment, Skills and Enterprise Refugee and Resettlement scheme provides access to employment, skills and entrepreneur support for Ukrainian, Afghan and Hong Kong status holders who live in the London Borough of Sutton.

See the Employment & Skills pages on the Council website for more details.
