Your new street trees need your help!

28 Jul 2023

Lib Dem-run Sutton Council has planted over 1,000 street trees across the borough in the past few years, but over the summer months those new trees need to be watered regularly.

New street trees need at least 50 litres of water per week in July and August, and while the Council is increasing its watering rounds, the trees can always use a helping hand.

If you would like to help, please water the base of trees, or use the hole in the green bag surrounding the tree’s trunk, or pour water down the black irrigation pipe present in many tree pits.

Don’t worry, it’s almost impossible to overwater a street tree!
