Tackling rat-running and improving road safety
Residents have raised concerns about congestion and pedestrian safety at Demesne Road railway bridge, and about speeding and rat-running on Clyde Road and Elgin Road.
Wallington South Councillors Sam, Jayne and Muhammad raised these issues with the Council who proposed a trial, closing off the railway bridge in Demesne Rd and Ross Parade at Clarendon Rd to vehicles.
Councillors have passed on helpful feedback from residents and told the council that any solution needs to allow lorries to deliver to Wallington Square and Travis Perkins.
They will continue to speak to residents and gather their views before agreeing to any trial.
