Sutton Lib Dems wish the NHS a Happy 75th Birthday
Sutton Liberal Democrats celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the NHS by presenting staff at St Helier Hospital with a card thanking them for their service.
Over 500 residents from across Sutton filled the card with well-wishing messages.
Many people shared touching memories of the impact the hospital has had on the lives of them and their family.
Others simply thanked St Helier for being there when they were most in need over the years.
Cllr Bobby Dean, Chair of the Hackbridge, St Helier and The Wrythe Local Committee, said:
“The NHS is unique across the world, but it’s the people working there who make it truly special. They come into work everyday to save lives, look after us and give hope in the most difficult moments.
“Nothing brought the value of the NHS into focus more than the pandemic. It was the NHS staff at St Helier, and hundreds of hospitals elsewhere, who got us through those difficult years.
“St Helier Hospital has been there through thick and thin for people across Sutton. It is part of the fabric of life here, and we are all grateful to the staff and volunteers that make it special.”
