Sutton Lib Dems commit to Belmont Station upgrades

Lib Dem run Sutton Council successfully bid for £3 million for the Network Rail upgrades of Belmont Station.
The plans will see the station improved and line upgrades to allow the frequency of trains to increase to four per hour.
Funding was also approved to improve walking and cycling routes between the station and the London Cancer Hub.
Works should begin in April 2024 with the extra trains coming in 2026.
