Security improvements on Denmark Road

2 Mar 2023

Your local Lib Dem Councillors have obtained increased security on the vacant site at Denmark Road, after it was recently exploited by professional fly-tippers.

In November, local residents reported an unauthorised encampment of roughly six caravans in the vacant car park.

Councillors worked with the police and Sutton Council to ensure legal action began in the first week, with the site vacated just before the court order was due to be enforced.

Councillors have since been pushing for the clean-up of the site to be completed after delays were put down to weather conditions and staff shortages.

The site is now largely cleared, with the remaining street bins due for removal shortly.

Now new security barriers are due for installation while the council is working with the police to pursue the fly-tippers.
