Over half (54%) of crimes in London between April and March 2022 were left unsolved, new analysis by the Liberal Democrats has revealed.

The party’s analysis of new Home Office figures has found that, of the 689,427 offences committed between April 2021 and March 2022, 373,498 were left unsolved - a staggering 54% of all crimes.

The Government have neglected our police for far too long. They should be giving the Met the resources they need to make sure that every crime is investigated properly.

Bobby Dean, who is running to be Carshalton & Wallington's next Lib Dem MP said:

“These shocking figures show that crime pays under the Conservatives.

“I'm speaking to more and more residents who are concerned about rising crime in their area.

"After years of cuts the Conservatives have left our police unable to do the job.

“We need a return to proper community policing, where officers have the resources to be visible, trusted and focused on cutting crime."
