Remembering The Queen in Oaks Park

2 Mar 2023

Dozens of trees have been planted in Oaks Park in memory of Queen Elizabeth II, as part of The Queen’s Green Canopy inititaive.

The project, run by the Friends of Oaks Park and supported by Sutton Council, has seen the planting of a copse of 30 trees in the centre of the park.

These trees join over a million others planted across the UK since 2021.

Bobby Dean, who is running to be Carshalton & Wallington’s next MP said:

“It’s really great to see the community come together to remember Queen Elizabeth II in this way.

“A big thank you to Friends of Oaks Park for organising the project and creating a beautiful new feature in the park.”
