Over £4m new funding for local school

28 Jul 2022

Lib Dem-run Sutton Council will invest over £4.4 million into Carshalton High School for Girls, building brand new classroom blocks and delivering improved science facilities.

The new investment will ensure enough high-quality school places are available for children in Sutton.

Works include replacing an old teaching block with a new modular building, eight new classrooms and retrofitting two science laboratories.

Local teacher and Lib Dem Councillor Patrick Ogbonna said:

“This is fantastic news for local families.

“As a teacher myself, I know how important good facilities are to a child’s education.

“It will make the world of difference.”
