New crossing installed on Sandy Lane South
A much-needed new crossing has been installed at the junction of Sandy Lane South and Stafford Road.
This area is particularly busy and used by many children from local schools.
The tight layout of the junction has led to bollards frequently being damaged by HGVs, so a redesign was needed.
Ed Joyce, Lib Dem Councillor for South Beddington & Roundshaw, said:
“I am really pleased that a new rebound bollard has been installed which will be more resistant to damage from HGVs.
"The junction has also been widened to allow more space for large vehicles and buses to pass round the corner”.
