MORTGAGE BOMBSHELL: Homeowners pay the price for Conservative chaos

As many as 1 in 3 families across Carshalton & Wallington will see their mortgage rates sky-rocket -- while the Conservative Government sit on their hands and do nothing to help.

Average monthly payments will be 38% higher compared to 2019 -- leaving homeowners on a mortgage cliff edge.

The Lib Dems are calling on the Government to take urgent action to stop people losing their homes as they come to the end of fixed term deals.

Bobby Dean, who is running to be the next Lib Dem MP for Carshalton & Wallington, said:

“Families are facing enormous pressure to deal with the cost of living crisis.

“Now they’re having to find hundreds of pounds more each month just to keep their home. The Conservatives’ poor handling of the economy has led to this point.

“The Lib Dem plan would see a fund brought in to help homeowners struggling to afford the rise in mortgage payments and at risk of being repossessed.”
