Local families hit by Cost of Conservatives
FOOD PRICES UP. MORTGAGE PAYMENTS UP. ENERGY BILLS UP.
Local families are being hit hard by the worst cost of living crisis in a generation – and the Conservatives are doing nothing to help.
The cost of the weekly shop has soared, while as many as 1 in 3 families face a 38% rise in mortgage payments.
Cllr Ruth Dombey, Lib Dem Leader of Sutton Council, said:
“So many people are really struggling right now -- they are worried about how they’ll put food on the table and worried about making the rent or the next mortgage payment.
“The Conservatives are so out of touch, they just don’t care about making things easier.
“The Lib Dems have common sense plans to help -- free school meals for every child in poverty, a fund to protect people at risk of losing their homes and a proper windfall tax on energy companies.”
