Lib Dems lead fight to save St Helier's A&E and Maternity services
Local people betrayed as Tory MP backs cuts to our hospital
Lib Dems are fighting against Government plans to cut vital services at St Helier Hospital, with A&E and Maternity set to be axed.
This comes after the local Conservative MP shocked residents by backing the cuts, with many feeling betrayed by the move.
Bobby Dean, who is running to be Carshalton & Wallington's next Lib Dem MP, said:
“Liberal Democrats have a track record of fighting for St Helier.
“Over time, we have protected our hospital from closure and secured multi-million pound investment in much-needed repairs to its buildings.
“The local Tory MP, meanwhile, is putting his bosses’ wishes ahead of those of local people.
“Carshalton & Wallington deserve better than years of more Tory lies and betrayal.
“If I am elected, I will always stand up for St Helier and do the right thing by local people.”
