Councillors act to save local heritage building

2 Mar 2023

Lib Dem Sutton Council has bought a landmark heritage building on Sutton High Street to save it from over a decade of neglect and disrepair.

246-254 High Street, opposite ASDA and known by many as the ‘White Building’ was being held by an offshore company and left to deteriorate.

Councillor David Bartolucci, Lib Dem Councillor for Sutton Central, said:

“Local Councillors Cryss, Ed and I have worked hard to make sure that the building is brought back to life as part of the Council’s ambitious plan to regenerate Sutton Town Centre.

“This will protect local heritage and bring a new vibrancy and focal point to the northern end of the High Street.”
