Bobby Dean: Bottom-of-the-barrel Budget fails to fix the NHS
Lib Dem candidate, Bobby Dean, has slammed the Chancellor’s budget for failing to take action on the crisis in the NHS.
Bobby said that local residents will see through the Chancellor’s “deception”, with NHS spending set to be £1.7 billion less in real terms next year than it was last year.
All while GP waiting lists continue to spiral and St Helier Hospital is left to crumble.
Bobby Dean, running to be Carshalton & Wallington’s next Lib Dem MP, said:
“This bottom-of the barrel Budget will barely touch the sides for families and pensioners around here, who are facing soaring mortgage bills while the cost of the weekly shop goes through the roof.
“People wanted to see real action taken to save the NHS - but it faces yet more real terms cuts. When will this out-of-touch Government realise that the public is fed up with our health service being run into the ground?
“Nobody wants to hear more empty promises from the Conservatives while our local health services are left on their knees. They want proper change through a General Election so we can kick this Conservative government out of office. They should call one now.”
