Bobby Blasts Banker’s Budget
The Conservative Government’s budget delivered massive tax breaks for the country’s richest people - while hard-working local families have been left to struggle.
The Conservatives scrapped the top rate of income tax for those earning £150,000 a year and over, cancelled a planned Corporation Tax rise, and gave the green light to unlimited banker's bonuses.
The giveaways amount to £45 billion of borrowing, as the Government still refuses to tax the energy giants' record-breaking profits to help pay for support.
Meanwhile, local families face a winter of worry as energy bills rocket, inflation continues to rise, interest rates climb and the country heads towards a recession.
Bobby Dean, who is campaigning to be Carshalton & Wallington’s next MP, said:
“The Conservatives have shown just how out of touch they are with local people in Carshalton and Wallington.
“The government is putting handouts for the rich first and support for struggling families and pensioners last.
“This is a banker’s budget, right in the middle of a cost of living crisis. It’s a disgrace. It’s time to vote this Conservative government out and deliver a fair deal for local people.”
