COUNCIL DECLARES PUBLIC SERVICES EMERGENCY

Lib Dem-run Sutton Council has declared an emergency after funding for local services is slashed by the Conservatives.

The Liberal Democrats have fought to keep council services running, despite the massive cuts imposed on our borough.

Our local NHS, schools and police are also at breaking point from over a decade of Tory Government neglect.

The local Lib Dems are now warning that residents will feel their public services reduce in quality as a result of these Conservative cuts.

The Government has slashed its funding to Sutton Council from £47.8 million in 2013 to £7.9 million today

Bobby Dean, who is running to be Carshalton & Wallington’s next MP, said:

“These cuts mean less money for local services like social care, fixing our roads and improving local parks -- people will really feel it.”

“It is hard to think of a time when our public services have ever come under such strain.

“Just ask anyone who has tried to get a GP appointment, needed an ambulance or reported a crime in recent months.

“We demand that the Government thinks again and funds our local council, NHS, schools and police properly.”
