Location: Carshalton, London
Salary: £25,200 – £40,565 (In line with IPSA scales, according to experience)
Length of Contract: 12 months initially with view to becoming permanent

Job details:
Bobby Dean MP is seeking a Caseworker to join the team in his busy constituency office in Carshalton, London.
Experience working in a people-focused role and dealing with the public in a calm, compassionate, and respectful manner is essential.
We are happy to discuss flexible work options, including job-share arrangements, part-time or condensed hours.
Key responsibilities:
- Deal with large numbers of standard queries, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, social media or face to face. Ongoing communication may be required
- Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately in accordance with the MP
- Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases
- Liaise with Government agencies, voluntary sector and others to resolve constituency matters
- Log all cases; monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken
- Take initial action on queries from members of the public, including responding on behalf of the MP as appropriate
- Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with the data protection legislation
- Assist surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate
- There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal hours and travel for work occasionally
Skills required:
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a sensitive and public-facing role
- Tenacious attitude with a commitment to getting the best outcome for every person
- Good knowledge of office-based IT systems and administrative tasks
- Commitment to the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats
