Action on rat-running and speeding in residential streets

An update from Wallington South's Lib Dem Councillors:

Residents in Elgin Road and Clyde Road had approached us asking for measures to reduce speeding and rat-running in their roads.

In response the council suggested proposals to close Elgin Road and part of Ross Road near Clyde Road to through-traffic.

After informal discussions with residents we have advised officers to proceed with a consultation on whether to trial the scheme for six months.

If agreed, at the end of the trial there would be a formal consultation to assess whether to make it permanent, tweak it or remove the restrictions.
