LIB DEMS FIGHT UNFAIR ULEZ PLAN

From day one, we have been clear that ULEZ expansion is unfair on local people

Lib Dem-run Sutton Council is continuing to stand up for local people against Sadiq Khan’s unfair ULEZ expansion.

The Council is refusing to help the Mayor roll out the scheme in our borough and no council funds or resources will be spent on installing ULEZ cameras.

Bobby Dean, who is running to be Carshalton & Wallington’s next MP said:

"Lib Dems want to see action on clean air and have been clear for over a year about how we can make the transition to cleaner vehicles fairly.

"Rushing this through while ignoring our feedback about how to ease the strain on people during a cost of living crisis is the wrong thing to do.

"That's why we're taking a stand and demanding more time and money for people to switch to compliant vehicles and funding for better public transport links.

"Though the Mayor wants to push ahead with ULEZ, we will not be signing a cooperation agreement with them."

We've been making our case in the media, making sure local people's views are heard so that the Mayor rethinks his decision.

We've had coverage on BBC London, the Daily Mail, the Evening Standard, the Sutton Guardian, The Telegraph, South West Londoner, MyLondon and TalkTV to name a few.
