Richard, Trish and Asif
Cllr Richard Clifton, Cllr Trish Fivey and Cllr Asif Hirani are your Liberal Democrat Councillors in Sutton South. They were first elected in 2010, 2014 and 2026 respectively.
They have a proven track record of delivering for the local community. They have already been part of the hard work the local Lib Dem council and Luke Taylor MP have been doing to secure new investment in our high streets, keep our borough one of the safest places to live in the country and make sure that help is available to families struggling with the cost of living crisis.
Unlike the other parties, Richard, Trish and Asif are regularly out and about in our community, knocking on doors and fixing local issues.
Together, they will fight for our area's future, making sure that nobody is left behind and that local residents and groups are involved in decision making about the issues that matter most to them.
They are on hand to tackle any concerns you might have about issues the local council is responsible for in your local area.
As a long-standing local councillor Richard has achieved many things for our area. In his years of experience he has got a major local employer supporting hundreds of jobs to stay in Sutton, helped design and consult on a proposal for a controlled parking zone covering much of the ward to make life safer for residents, and has assisted countless local people with concerns and problems they've faced.
In his professional life, he fought for stronger safety rules across Europe as a senior civil servant, a chair of an EU agency and head of the United Kingdom delegation to the Channel Tunnel safety authority.
Trish has a wealth of experience - having managed some of the largest and most successful sales teams in the insurance industry, and now running her own business. She has business savvy and regularly engages with the local business community.
Trish believes in bringing together people from diverse backgrounds who have not previously been involved with the council. As a councillor she has worked closely with the local charities, community groups and sports clubs to get them the support and backing they need, and as Mayor she raised tens of thousands of pounds for local charities. She knows that to truly support our local community, we need real action for those struggling with the cost of living - and has helped local families at risk of losing their home stay in place.
Asif has a laser-sharp focus on safety and tackling local crime. He regularly meets with the local neighbourhood police team to feed back the concerns he hears from local people on the doorsteps every week - and has also helped organise meetings between local groups and the police so they can tell their own stories.
In his professional life he fights financial crime as part of a wider career in IT and technology - and has used this experience to run seminars and workshops for local people to educate them on cyber scams and how they can keep themselves and their money safe online.
