Your St Helier East Liberal Democrat team
Paul and Gemma
Paul and Gemma are working hard all year round, listening to residents and taking action on your priorities.
Recently, they have secured improvements to Poulter Park, helped St Helier Hospital staff get a fair pay deal and brought forward measures to improve parking at The Circle.
Your team are standing up for residents by taking action on the cost-of-living, fighting for our local health services and working closely with the local police to increase neighbourhood patrols and keep our area safe.
With your support on May 7th, Paul and Gemma will continue to work hard for local residents and deliver for St Helier East.
Meet the team…
Paul is a local caseworker. He has supported hundreds of residents with complex issues by helping them access the services they need.
Before this, he founded and ran his own fruit and vegetable business, which went on to employ hundreds of people across London. Paul is passionate about education and care. He volunteers as a mentor to young people from challenging backgrounds, served as a representative for a group that facilitates music education in Sutton, and is Vice-Chair of the Council’s People Committee. He has helped make Poulter Park safer by having cameras installed and motorcycle barriers along the Wandle Trail.
Gemma works for a charity that helps children in the UK and around the world access healthcare, education and food.
She serves on the Council’s Corporate Parenting Forum, which brings together services, from health to housing, alongside young people themselves to better support children in care. Gemma has championed improvements to our local parks and the River Wandle, regularly taking part in litter picks and clean-ups. She has worked with the local police team to raise residents’ concerns and to increase police patrols. Gemma is part of a community choir and lives locally with her husband and their dog. She is expecting her first child at St Helier.
